The following is a poem of Sri Sri Babathakur (translated by Sri Ramen Basu to English) to facilitate the seeker on the path of action. Most of us are ordinary seekers who maintain their livelihood working in relative existence. The song is revealed and included as Song no 33, ‘Karma and Sadhan Tattva’ in Swanubhavasudha Vol 2:
Always
search for your faults instead of that of others
Always
praise the qualities of others instead of your own
Increase
your capabilities and not your desires
Think
before you take any action but not after
You
donate according to your ability but never expect anything in return
What
you do not know do not tell it to others
What
you do not love do not give it to others
Do
never claim the love of others
Hope
destroys everything do not nurture hopes
The
desires and wants delude in the form of hope
In
this myriad of worldly life no one is your own
In
one’s own awareness there is no duality
This
sense of mine is the egoistic worldly life
The
worldliness of ego is the imagination of mind
Imagination
is the fancy of mind and is never true
The
Self awareness is the truth and is never untrue
Worship
the consciousness and not the lifeless
Worship
of the lifeless increase your sense of enjoyment and desires
The
attachment to worldly life is transient and it is desire for objects
The
result of which is birth death diseases and the miseries
Think
of happiness when you are in pain
Think
of sorrow when you are happy
When
there is evenness in happiness and sorrow
There
is no unrest and the fear of delusion
Think
of God and Self in the inner and the outer
In
the rumination and knowledge of Guru there is no delusion and attachment
The
easiest spiritual practice to achieve peace
Is
to accept and know the undivided whole in one’s own consciousness
This
translation is offered at the lotus feet of Sri Sri Babathakur.
